ABOUT THE PROCEDURE
What is a Labiaplasty?
Labiaplasty is a cosmetic procedure designed to reduce the size or reshape the labia, the inner or outer folds of the vulva. This surgery can be performed for aesthetic reasons, to relieve discomfort from enlarged or asymmetrical labia, or to restore confidence following childbirth or aging.
The procedure involves removing excess tissue to create a more symmetrical and comfortable appearance. Labiaplasty is often sought by women who experience pain or irritation due to the size or shape of their labia, or simply wish to enhance the appearance of their genital area.
At Transform, your consultation is completely confidential. Our experienced surgeons will guide you through your options and develop a treatment plan tailored to your needs.
Three procedures, one transformation
Your mommy makeover will be tailored to your needs and may involve a combination of the following procedures.
Labia Minora (Inner Folds)
Reduces or reshapes the inner labial folds that may extend beyond the outer labia. This is the most common form of labiaplasty and addresses both comfort and appearance.
- Enlarged or asymmetrical inner labia
- Pain or irritation during exercise or daily activities
- Discomfort during intimacy
- Self-consciousness about the size or shape of the labia
Labia Majora (Outer Folds)
Addresses the outer labial folds which may have lost volume or developed excess tissue due to aging, childbirth, or genetics.
- Excess tissue on the outer labia
- Loss of volume or fullness over time
- Changes following childbirth or aging
- A desire for a more balanced overall appearance
A thorough consultation determines which approach is appropriate for you.
CANDIDACY
Is a labiaplasty right for you?
Labiaplasty offers the reduction of discomfort caused by enlarged labia and an improvement in the aesthetic appearance of the genital area. It can also help restore confidence, providing both physical and emotional wellbeing. The procedure involves minimal scarring with discreet incisions, offers fast recovery and long-lasting results, and outcomes are customized based on your anatomy and preferences.
You may be a good for candidate for labiaplasty if:
- You feel self-conscious about the size, shape, or symmetry of your labia
- You experience discomfort during physical activities or intercourse
- You wish to enhance the aesthetics of your genital area after childbirth or aging
- You are in good health and have realistic expectations
It is important to have completed your family before undergoing the procedure, as future pregnancies can affect results.
The goal is never to sell surgery. It is to ensure any procedure recommended is safe, appropriate, and likely to deliver a meaningful result.
THE PROCEDURE
What happens during surgery?
Labiaplasty is typically performed under local anesthesia or light sedation to ensure comfort throughout the procedure. The procedure is minimally invasive and typically takes about 1 to 2 hours.
Reshaping the tissue
1-2 hours
The surgeon makes small incisions on the labia, removing excess tissue and reshaping the area to meet your desired appearance. Depending on your goals, this can involve reducing length, correcting asymmetry, or refining the overall contour.
Closure and results
Dissolvable stitches
The incision sites are carefully closed, leaving minimal scarring. Most patients experience an immediate improvement in comfort and aesthetics.
